You’ll never be out of work as a career blogger

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

You’ll never be out of a job as long as you want to blog for others because most business people don’t have time to blog — and most don’t like to write, either. This means that once you get known as a career blogger, people will approach you to hire you.

Therefore, your first (or second) blog should be your “Hire-Me” blog. This a blog which you write (or record, if you’re podcasting) as an advertisement for your blogging services. Think of this blog as being a 24×7 salesperson for your blogging career.

Of course, you don’t need to blatant in your advertising for blogging gigs, although you can be. If you haven’t set up Bloglines or another blog reader yet so you can keep up with other bloggers, do that now. You’ll soon be able to pick the bloggers who are for hire. Most don’t scream HIRE ME in their blog, but they do showcase their expertise. Make sure that you do the same.

New PayPerPost service: blog info-mercials

Here’s an interesting new service. WebProNews.com says in the piece “PayPerPost.com – Blogging Turns On The Red Light”:

As of today, knowing whether a blog post is unbiased or a blogformercial, will be a lot trickier with the launch of PayPerPost.com.

PayPerPost.com is new, so keep that in mind. I know nothing about the service, so please don’t take this as an endorsement. However, if you’ve got a blog, you can look into getting involved.

There are many, many ways to monetize your blogs. :-)

Blogger jobs: who’s hiring bloggers?

Who’s hiring bloggers? Businesses, primarily. Thousands of businesses from single-person micro-businesses to major corporations.

Type “blogger jobs” into the search query box at www.google.com — this gives you a small (very small) notion of what’s available. However, because of how long it takes pages to index on Web search engines, most of these jobs are old.

Then, go to http://www.monster.com and search for jobs for bloggers.

Please note, that searching Google, and searching job sites, are NOT the ways I recommend that you find the best blogging jobs. Sure, there are jobs available, but… they’re not the best jobs.

You’ll need to read Blogging for Dollars to find the BEST ways to get great, high-paid blogging gigs. :-)
