The first step in becoming a career blogger, whether you decide to blog for a business, or to build your own blogging empire, is to GET a blog.
If you’re new to the whole blogging concept, and are finding it a little hard to get your head around, start off with a Blogger blog. Yes, you may want to use WordPress or a Content Management System (CMS) later, but Blogger lets you set up a professional-looking blog in seconds. I started my first Blogspot blog before Google bought Blogger.com; I still have several Blogger blogs — it’s a great platform to get your feet wet in blogging.
What will you call your blog? Use your own name. We’ll talk about the benefits of branding in the weeks and months to come, but all you need to know is that as a professional blogger, you want to be KNOWN. The further you can spread your name in the online world, the more people will know you. And having people know you is the first step to successful career blogging.
