Get traffic by marketing your blog every day

Once you’ve created your blog, and made a few entries, the fun starts. You now need to start marketing your blog, that is, promoting it, so that you get an ever-increasing flow of traffic.

I wrote about getting traffic to your blog in “Five Easy Ways To Promote Your Blog”, discussing feeds, links, articles, comments and the need to keep creating content. However, that’s only the start of marketing your blog. There are many ways you can market.

I encourage you to be creative in your blog marketing. It’s essential. Your blog is a business, so you can use any and all business marketing tactics to market your blog — press releases, offline promotions, and advertising (of course.)

Marketing your blog is a marathon, not a sprint
Marketing your blog is an on-going necessity, so you’ll get the best results with your marketing if you do just ONE marketing-related task a day.

Aim to make it fun for yourself. For example, if you hate leaving comments on other peoples’ blogs, don’t do it. Find a marketing task you like to do, and do it, every day.

But what if you hate marketing with a passion? Some people just don’t like marketing at all. If that’s you, the answer may be to barter a skill that you have for marketing services.

Whatever you do, and however you do it, market your blog. Every day.
