Freelance blogging for clients: you’re a copywriter

by angela.booth on December 3, 2006

I was chatting with a copywriting colleague over the weekend. She’s freelance blogging for a company, but didn’t consider that blogging is copywriting, while I maintain that it is.

When you’re freelance blogging, it’s a marketing function, and with my freelance blogging clients, I’ve noticed that blogging works best when the business’s blog is looked on as a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) function. A blog offers a million ways for a business to look after its customers, because the best blogs are a conversation.

As we discussed blogging, my colleague started to become excited – she’s an expert copywriter and marketer, and began to see ways in which she could help the business to achieve its aims via the blog. I was pleased, because initially her attitude was that blogging is just a fad, but she soon started to see the possibilities in blogging. She’s even going to start her own blog.

Have YOU started blogging? Blogging is copywriting, and lucrative.
