Much as I love blogs, some things are easier to accomplish with a static site.
As your blog grows over the years, stuff gets lost – you forget what you called a particular post, you want to change a price, you want to advertise a product… Finding a specific posts, because of a blog’s chronological nature, can be a hassle.
So if you’re selling products or services from your blog, consider adding a small companion site.
Yes, you can create static pages in WordPress and most blogging applications, but my feeling is that a static site does the job more effectively. Your mileage may vary, and it’s your choice.
