When your blogging well is completely dry, and you can’t think of a single topic you want to post about, consider short posts on a particular theme.
That theme could even be “blogger’s block”.
Over on my writer’s blog I’ve written some posts which may help you to overcome blogger’s block:
Blogger block breaker: keep a BIG list of ideas
I have to admit that while I may get a block when writing long projects like books, I’ve never suffered from a blogging block – there’s just too much to write about, and writing 200 words on a topic is pretty easy. But then I’ve been writing for a long time, and writing has become automatic.
If you’re finding that you regularly get stuck for material to write about, buy a special small notebook for blog ideas – a PHYSICAL notebook, one that fits into your pocket, so that you can take it everywhere with you. I get some of my best ideas when I’m at the hairdresser or while walking the dog.
Aim to fill a complete notebook with ideas, because most creative blocks stem from a lack of confidence. Then fill another one. When you’ve always got a backlog of ideas, you’ll never suffer another block – you’ll become an effortlessly prolific blogger.
