If you’re a constant reader of a particular blog, you’ll know which topics are covered on the blog, and how they’re covered. That’s not to say that you should stick to current topics, you can strike out with a new topic if you get the permission of the blog owner.
Just write the blog owner of a blog on which you’d like to guest, and ask for the gig.
Make your note short and sweet, no need to deliver your life story.
Something like:
Hi, I’ve been reading __________ since _______. I own a blog __________ and am available if you ever want to take time off and need a guest blogger.
Please get in touch if I can help.
Happy guest blogging. If you score a gig at a high traffic blog, your own blog traffic will rise too, as a whole new circle of blog readers get to know you.
