I’ve just published “Blogs for Sale: Creating Blogs and Selling Them” over on Blogging Tips, and have had an amazing response.
Yes, it’s perfectly possible and profitable to create blogs with the express purpose of selling them.
As I wrote in the article:
Many people who want a blog don’t want to go through the hassle of creating one; it’s intimidating. Therefore blog “flipping” – creating blogs with the intention of selling them – has become popular among experienced bloggers.
The blog’s new owner has by-passed the startup stage; he now has an active blog which is (perhaps, unless it’s brand new) already earning an income.
If you enjoy blogging, you can try creating a blog to sell. It’s not for everyone, but if you have the skills, you can create blogs which people want to buy.
Creating and selling blogs isn’t for everyone – I build most of my blogs for myself, first and foremost, so selling a blog to me is like selling one of my children. But if you don’t have this emotional attachment, blog flipping may be for you.
