A blog gets Jenny known, and brings her a dream job
I met Jenny at a dinner party. Jenny was looking forward to the birth of her first child, but she was bored; she was used to being busy, and couldn’t wait for the baby to arrive so she could go back to work. We chatted, and I encouraged her to blog.
So she started a new-mom blog.
Time passed, little David was born, and everything changed. Jenny now dreaded going back to work and leaving him, as she knew she must do when he was 12 weeks old.
Jenny blogged about David, and her discoveries as a new mom, and occasionally I’d read her blog, because it was written in a fun style, with lots of information.
When her blog was around three months old, and Jenny only had a few weeks left as a stay-at-home mom, a large company made her an offer (one of those offers you can’t refuse) for her blog. Not only did they want to buy the blog, but they wanted Jenny to stay on, both writing for the blog, and editing other writers they were hiring.
As Jenny wrote in an email message - “Who would ever guess that just a few months ago I asked you what a blog was!”
