Want to get hired to blog? It’s easy – just about anyone with a pulse, and a blog, can get hired to blog.
Every week or two, I get an email message from someone asking where all the blog jobs are. Now, since I routinely pass on blog jobs to other bloggers because I’m too busy, I KNOW that blog jobs are everywhere.
Of course I make a pro forma request for the prospective’s blogger’s URL, but I know that I’ll be told the “blogger” has yet to create a blog.
This is silly. If you want to fish, you’ve got to push your boat out into the river… and if you want to blog for others, get blog.
As Hiring Bloggers: Let Your Blog Speak Well of You | The Blog Herald suggests:
“If you want to be hired as a blogger, blog. Your blog is your resume. Let it speak well for you because it speaks volumes to a potential blogger employer.
It must represent your blog content and specialty – every design detail.
Your blog must show a history of consistency and perseverance. Anyone can blog, but it takes a special person to blog day after day after month after year. The content must keep flowing. The words must be there. They must convey your message and intent across time.”
Blog jobs truly are everywhere. Businesses need you, but before you start job hunting, start your blog.
