Is your blog shoveling money into your bank account every day? If it isn’t, you may want to look at what you’re blogging about — your niche. It’s vital that people are spending money in your niche; only then can you make money.
In Blog Money Machine: 5 Tips for Daily Cash | Blogging for Dollars Blog I said:
“If people aren’t spending money in your niche, your blog will never make money. Therefore your first step when considering a niche is to find out whether people are actually spending money online in that particular niche.
As a rule of thumb, if there is advertising in a niche, then money is being spent. To find out whether people are advertising on your topic, visit Google and type the topic name into the search query box. Are there advertisers on the right hand side of the query results page?”
Many years ago, another (very successful) writer said to me: “People will always be interested in three things: romance, money and diets. If you want to make money writing, write about those three things and you can’t go wrong.”
What niches can you find in the topics of romance, money and diets? I’m sure you can find hundreds of niches. Of course you don’t have to focus on those areas, but think in terms of what people care about, and you can’t go wrong. Your blog will turn into a money machine.
