Is Making Money Online Really Worth It? - Make Money With GatherSuccess says:

“The thing is I remember when I started, I took a total of 6 months of learning and failing before I made my first US$50 online. That first US$50 really woke me up and I knew from then on making money online was possible. Do note that getting that 1st cheque will never be a easy journey for anyone. Some people take maybe 8 months or even years just to make the 1st cheque.

The interesting part was once I knew what was the formula that I need to spend to make that amount of money. I was about to really calculate how much I like to earn online based on the amount of efforts.”

That’s the point of Blogging for Dollars in a nutshell. Make your first dollar. Then replicate the process you used to make that dollar. Your profits will snowball, if you keep doing what works.

Over on Blogging Tips, I recently posted “Blog What You Know - Blog Your Life” which will give you ideas about how you can use your life in your blog. When you blog with enthusiasm, creating blog content is easy.

And more to the point, when you’re excited about blogging, you’ll find money-making opportunities everywhere you look. It’s all in the attitude.

Make up your mind that you’re a blogging winner.

Blogging with confidence: blog traffic is cumulative

If you’re a new blogger (blogging less than 12 months), you can become depressed if you pay too much attention to your blog stats. I know it’s difficult, because you want traffic NOW, but try to ignore your stats if you’re growing your blog organically.

By “organically”, I mean you’re taking the scenic route to success. You’re not advertising your blog or buying links to get traffic. You’re depending solely on your RSS feeds to get traffic.

Your blog takes time to be indexed by the search engines. In 2004, you could start a new blog, and your posts would all be indexed within 24 hours. That’s not the case in 2007. Your posts will still be indexed, but if you’re in a competitive niche, then your posts won’t be returned in the search engine query results for several months.

This is because the major search engines, especially Google, are wary of bestowing trust too early. Blame search engine spam for that. Thousands of new blogs are being created each day. Most of these are junk blogs. They will fall by the wayside; the search engines know that, so age - the length of time you’ve been publishing your blog - is important.

The longer your blog is online, and the more original content you create, the more traffic you’ll get. Your traffic is cumulative. Don’t be dismayed if you only have 50 readers over the first couple of months. You’ll gain readers.

Look at it this way: blogging is now competitive, because blogs work. You can make a lot of money blogging if you’re prepared to have patience. If you’re eager for traffic NOW, and are prepared to spend money, you can buy traffic. So have confidence in your blog - your traffic will grow, and so will your income.
